IGS GeboJagema is a high end tool shop, specialized in the design, production and validation of plastic injection molds. Our customers are global OEM’s and CMO’s which are active in the market segments Healthcare, Packaging and Optical. In these segments we distinguish ourselves with our fully automated production process, our engineering capabilities and our extensive validation capabilities. More than 90% of our tools are exported outside the Netherlands, of which about half is exported to the USA.

Moldmaker

In this role, you are responsible for assembling/disassembling and optimizing molds or components thereof. You have direct contact with project leaders, engineers, and (international) clients during mold (internal) approvals, and you make proposals for optimization when necessary. Additionally, you provide training to clients, either on-site or off-site. Finally, together with the project leader, you are responsible for Internal Mould Acceptance (IMA).

The activities listed are examples and may not be exhaustive or sometimes overly detailed. Individual agreements will be documented during goal-setting discussions.

Mold Making (IIII)

Mold making involves the production of molds and their components. Your responsibilities include:

  • Assembling and disassembling molds (and their components) following conditions, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Selecting the machining sequence, clamping, and aligning the workpiece.
  • Inspecting completed operations (incoming inspection).
  • Identifying deviations and ambiguities.
  • Inspecting your own work and that of others according to advanced measurement reports.
  • Optimizing molds and their components.
  • Making improvement proposals for molds.
  • Guiding and coaching Junior Moldmakers, Moldmakers, and Senior Moldmakers by supporting their work and explaining procedures.

Part Finishing

Part finishing involves the deburring of mold components. Your responsibilities include:

  • Removing any remaining burr residues on mold components following conditions, guidelines, and procedures.
  • Part finishing near polishing work.
  • Selecting the machining sequence, clamping, and aligning the workpiece.

Polishing

Polishing is a machining method used to make the surface of the mold (or its components) very smooth. This is often one of the final steps in the production process. Your responsibilities include:

  • Polishing mold components.
  • Taking care of machines and tools.
  • Identifying deviations and ambiguities.
  • Inspecting your own work.

Customer Contact

Maintaining relationships with existing customers and ensuring customer satisfaction in line with objectives. Examples of activities include:

  • Serving (international) customers during mold (internal) approvals.
  • Performing work at the customer’s location.
  • Providing training to customers.
  • Relationship management (building and maintaining a network).
  • Advising (international) customers on molds or their components.
  • Resolving customer malfunctions and/or problems.

Management Reporting

Creating reports for colleagues and/or senior management. These reports can serve as accountability, show progress, make proposals, provide input for policies, etc. Examples of activities include:

  • Processing data from various systems.
  • Creating plans and analyses.
  • Distributing the reports.
  • Making improvement proposals and implementing them or having them implemented.
  • Recognizing developments and opportunities.

Safety

Understanding and adhering to safety procedures. Examples of activities include:

  • Compliance with safety regulations.
  • Properly using tools and machinery.
  • Reporting unsafe situations to management.
  • Addressing colleagues regarding unsafe situations.
  • Complying with laws and regulations related to safety, occupational health, and the environment.
